About Campbeltown

Campbeltown has the unlikely distinction of being the furthest town from any other on the British mainland.

It is the capital of Kintyre, a massive peninsula 54 mils long and never more than 10 miles wide, bordered on one side by the Atlantic, and on the other the Firth Of Clyde, and extending northwards into the huge sea-loch, Loch Fyne.

---------------------------------------------------------

Probably the least known and positively the smallest malt region of Scotland.

---------------------------------------------------------

Perhaps the most popular attraction in this area is the Cave on Davaar Island, which lies off Kildalloig Point, in the late 1800s a Painting appeared of the Crucifixion, lit only by a shaft of light from above, on the Right you can see the Painting ...

---------------------------------------------------------

The most interesting sight in the town is The Wee Picture House on Hall Street, first opened in May 1913, no visit to Campbeltown would be complete witout haveing a look at the glories of a bygone era in the oldest cinema in Scotland.

About Amsterdam

Amsterdan is an unusual in that it has all the advantages of a Big city > Culture > History > Food > Entertaiment and good Transport all over the City.

---------------------------------------------------------

The weather ranges from a little around freezing in the depths of winter, though usually with little snow, to typically sunny days of 20 to 25 degrees celsius in the summer.

---------------------------------------------------------

Just about everyone speaks English in Amsterdam and are proud of the fact.

---------------------------------------------------------

A common misconception is that Dutch is very close to German, in truth they are not mutually intelligible: Dutch peopel have to learn German at school, and in general they speak better English than German, German and Dutch are similar in the same way that French and Italian are similar.

---------------------------------------------------------

The Dutch typically go out to eat as an activity in itself, so there is no rush to eat and get going, waters respect this and will often leave you to eat in peace, when the Dutch go out to eat, they don't go to eat Dutch food, there are very few places that serve Dutch food > Pancakes are a typical Dutch fare.

---------------------------------------------------------

Chinese food > there are a few Restaurants on the Zeedijk, 5 Min from the Red Light.
